Life can get overwhelming, and sometimes, you just need a break. That’s exactly what my friends and I did when we decided to ditch the textbooks and head to the pumpkin patch for a day of carefree fun.

A Spooky Musical Ride

Going to the pumpkin patch involved ridding a charming truck. Our guide was armed with a ukulele and strummed and sung away while singing folk songs. My friends and I had such a fun time singing along with the guide and other __. The combination of bumpy truck rides and folksy tunes turned our escape into an unforgettable journey. Halloween decorations adorned every corner of the ride, with many scarecrow jump-scares that had me and my friends (and little kids on the truck) gasping and screaming in surprise.

Pumpkin Pickin’

When we arrived at the pumpkin patch, we all walked around and searched for the perfect pumpkin that we felt called out to us. After examining countless pumpkins and finding out perfect match, we had the most intense arm workout while we carried them back to our starting point. It was a workout we had not expected, but it was a workout of the best kind—one that left us with not just pumpkins but a collection of memories and a stronger bond among friends.

Our Photoshoot Moment

And, of course, what’s a day of fun without a good old photoshoot? Phones in hand, we documented every step of our adventure with photos and videos. The autumn sunlight and the colourful pumpkins made for the perfect backdrop, ensuring that every click captured the essence of our carefree day.

A Day for the Books

Before I moved to Canada, I had only seen pumpkin patches in movies and YouTube videos. I had longed to experience such a mundane activity for so long, and I am so grateful to have experienced it with such amazing friends by my side. This was the best study break I could have imagined. Sometimes, all it takes is a day with friends, a truck ride serenaded by a ukulele, and the whimsy of a pumpkin patch to recharge your spirit and get you ready for midterms. This is your reminder to enjoy autumn activities, no matter how mundane they seem. Anything can be fun with the right spirit and people by your side.

Lots of love,

Elisa
